New York

I can't believe that New York has already come and gone. We had so much fun there. There is a ton of stuff to do that you don't even know where to start. The day we got there we went to the Empire State building and waited in line for almost 2 hours. We finally got to the top and it was so nice. Looking at all of the city lights is neat but the thing that was so cool was how quiet it was up there. Even the people up there are quiet. If it wasn't so crowded it would be a cool place to go and relax and just think. Pretty much the first night we just walked around and looked at the millions on people that are there.

On Friday we got up and took our first subway ride to ground zero. Well after we finally got on the right one. They are working on the memorial park so you can't really see anything but we went into this church that was right across the street from the World Trade Center. It is crazy that they have a cemetery in front of the church. Some of them dated back to the 1700's.

We went into the museum that has pictures from Sept. 11th and saw so many neat and sad things. They had some of the recordings from the fire fighter that were radioing back where they were inside of the buildings. This picture below is one of the windows from the plane that was recovered from the wreckage.

We decided not to go to the Statue of Liberty so we went and saw it from across the river. It was pretty overcast that day so the picture isn't that clear. After walking around more we headed up to Central Park.

Here we are in front of a cool water fall inside of Central Park. It was so nice and quiet walking around. Then it started to rain a lot. We walked down 5th avenue and went into stores to dry off a little. We finally made it back to our hotel and waited the rain out. Thankfully it didn't take long and we were out again. Dinner and the comedy club were a great way to end our second night.

There are so many cool buildings there. This is just one of them.

On Saturday Ben and I were on our own. We went to Little Italy and China Town and it was packed. We didn't stay long, it made me feel like we were back in Mexico at the fish market. Cool place but WAY to packed.

On Saturday night we met up with my brother and Mandy who just became his fiance about 2 hours earlier! YAY!! Congrats again. We went to dinner at a restuarnt owned by a lady on the food network. It was good food. After dinner we headed back to the hotel and went to bed. Mandy took a red eye over and we wanted to get some good sleep before another day of packed sight seeing and shopping.

The newly engaged couple!!!!

For some reason I didn't upload many pictures from Sunday but I will later. Like I said sight seeing and shopping and slipping in the rain.

Monday was our last day there. We decided to head up to Yankee Stadium and see what there was around there. Not much so we took a few pictures and headed back to Time Square.

Thanks Brad for inviting me and Ben along. It was a ton of fun and whenever you need a traveling buddy again, give us a call. I loved New York and want to go again but I will wait until I do a few other places on my list.

Looks like you had a very nice trip! My parents, me, and Shalice went to NY a couple months before 9-11, so we were able to see the twin towers, not knowing they wouldn't be there shortly after, wierd!
